The location is in a quiet rural village on the banks of the river Miño. The surroundings are with vineyards, woods and hills. Close to the river and within walking distance you can view a superb waterfall, falling into the river Miño. Services and amenities are at 10 km the village of Ferreira de Panton. At 13 km is a Spa Hotel with a quality 18-hole golf course.
The historic city of Monforte de Lemos is located at approx. 25 minutes by car (20 km). This lively town offers all necessary amenities, such as a hospital, hypermarkets, all kind of shops, banks, schools, bars and restaurants, etc.

During the Middle Ages, Monforte de Lemos became an important centre in Galicia. You can still find many interesting historical monuments in the old quarter. Worth to visit are for example the huge 17th century building of Nuestra Señora de Antigua (well known as El Colegio del Cardenal, with some very interesting paintings of El Greco in the museum), the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the medieval castle and palace of the counts of Lemos (today a “Parador” complex, a by the state owned Hotel), the old Jewish quarter with medieval walls and towers, the convent of “Las Clarisas” with a very important museum of sacred art and the medieval bridge over the river Cabe.
