The location is in the outskirts of Monforte de Lemos, a charming historical town with an old quarter and all kind of services and amenities. Worth to visit are the centre of the town with an impressive 17th century building (“El Cardenal”) with paintings of El Greco and a castle with a monastery and palace on the top of a hill. This belonged in the past to the count of Lemos and is actually a Spanish state hotel (Parador). Further on you can visit the convent of “Las Clarisas” with an important museum of sacred art and very close to the convent you can cross the medieval bridge over the river Cabe. Very recommendable are the local festivals in the middle of August.
