The location is in the historic centre of Monforte de Lemos, very close to its old Jewish Quarter and the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the medieval castle and palace of the counts of Lemos (today a “Parador”, a by the state owned luxury Hotel). Monforte is a lively town with good bars and restaurants and you can find all necessary services and amenities at walking distance, (a hospital, hypermarkets, all kind of shops, banks, schools, bars and restaurants, etc.). During the Middle Ages, Monforte became one of the most important towns in Galicia. The huge 17^th century building of Nuestra Señora de Antigua (well known as El Colegio del Cardenal, with paintings of “El Greco” in the museum), the convent of “Las Clarisas” with a very important museum of sacred art and the medieval bridge over the river Cabe are other important monuments in this small but charming city.
