Location:
The location of the property is in a small hamlet in the Ribeira Sacra region, in the south of the province of Lugo. The villages of Ferreira de Panton and Escairon are both located at less than 10 minutes by car and offer most of the necessary amenities and services such as shops, supermarkets, banks, a primary school, bars and restaurants, etc., The Spa hotel of Aguas Santas with an 18-hole golf course is located at 10 km. The lively medieval town of Monforte de Lemos is about 20 minutes away by car (16 km) and the city of Ourense about 35 minutes. The location is also only 3 km from the river Miño and at 6 km from the picturesque river beach of A Cova.

During the Middle Ages, the town became an important centre in Galicia. You can still find many interesting historical monuments in the old quarter. Worth to visit are for example the huge 17th century building of Nuestra Señora de Antigua (well known as El Colegio del Cardenal, with some very interesting paintings of El Greco in the museum), the monastery of San Vicente do Pino and the medieval castle and palace of the counts of Lemos (today a “Parador” complex, a by the state owned Hotel), the old Jewish quarter with medieval walls and towers, the convent of “Las Clarisas” with a very important museum of sacred art and the medieval bridge over the river Cabe.
